Introduction
The wafer shippers are specifically engineered to ship, transport, or store semiconductor wafers. Primarily designed to accommodate thin silicon wafers, they are also suitable for glass, quartz, sapphire, GaAs, and other thin round wafers ranging from Ø2” to 6” or Ø51 to 150mm.
These wafer shippers/carriers are also referred to as coin shippers.
They consist of three components: base, spider spring, and locking cap.
The base is concave to ensure the wafers are held at the edges only.
The spider spring secures the wafer once the cap is locked onto the base.
Available in sizes from 2” to 6” (51 to 150mm diameter) and made of translucent, natural polypropylene.

The “Coin Style” single wafer shippers or wafer holders are available in various sizes and materials (Natural PP) for easy loading/unloading in both automated and manual applications. They are impact-resistant and feature a screw-on lid for secure packing.
Single wafer shipping containers provide safe transport for 5″ (150 mm) wafers. The coin-style shippers are cylindrical and typically include a spring (optional without spring). These shippers are designed to absorb impact and include a screw-on lid to securely protect your wafers.
