Description
Fused silica – also referred to as fused quartz – is an amorphous phase of silica.
Compared to borosilicate wafers, fused silica contains no additives.
It is almost chemically inactive.
It exhibits very high thermal resistance.
It offers improved optical transmission in deep UV (ultraviolet).
Silica dust particles are first deposited on the substrate; the solidification of these molten particles forms a pure fused phase on the surface through flame hydrolysis.
