Properties, Storage and Cautions
Zinc nanoparticles are highly flammable and must be handled with care. Rapid movements and vibrations should be avoided. The powder must be stored away from sunlight, heat, moisture, and impacts. Because coagulation is a significant concern, the powder should be vacuum-sealed and kept in cool, dry conditions with minimal air exposure.
Applications
Zinc is a widely used metal, applied in anti-corrosion coatings (such as steel galvanization), batteries, fuel cells, alloys for water valves, and the automotive, electrical, and hardware industries. Additional applications include gamma-ray detectors, semiconductors, hydrogen production, rocket propellants, anti-wear agents, and anti-fouling materials.
