Ketjen Black EC-600JD Conductive Carbon Black
KETJENBLACK is a unique electro-conductive carbon black known for its exceptional performance and consistent quality. When mixed with plastic, rubber, or other materials, KETJENBLACK delivers the same level of electro-conductivity as conventional carbon black but at significantly lower loading levels.

Applications of Ketjenblack
EC-600JD is a highly pure carbon black ideal for antistatic and electroconductive applications. Its unique morphology and extremely high surface area of approximately 1400 m²/g (BET) allow it to achieve the same conductivity as conventional electroconductive blacks with only one-sixth of the loading. The low loading requirement of Ketjenblack EC-600JD provides easier processing for compounds sensitive to filler addition, minimizing loss of mechanical and rheological properties.
When thoroughly dispersed in polymers, Ketjenblack EC-600JD significantly enhances compound conductivity. It can be used in all polymer types—thermosets, thermoplastics, and elastomers. Its unique structure enables excellent conductive performance with very low loading levels. The required loading to reach a specific conductivity may vary depending on the polymer type.
Ketjenblack Features
(1) Provides the same electro-conductivity as conventional carbon black with only 1/2 to 1/3 of the loading quantity.
(2) Effective at lower loading levels, minimizing impact on the physical properties of base resins or paints.
(3) Shows minimal reduction in electro-conductivity when mixed with other materials.
Electro-Conductive Mechanism
KETJENBLACK’s pore structure enables superior performance compared to other types of carbon black. Its morphology and internal architecture significantly contribute to its conductivity behavior.
Storage
Nano Chicago recommends storing Ketjenblack EC-600JD in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight (more than 30 minutes) may damage the packaging.
